I would like for you to share your comments, concerns and questions about literature circles. Each year I have implemented literature circles a little differently.
What changes would you suggest I make for next year to improve this process? Any input you provide will help me to tweak the process of using literature circles as a tool for learning and sharing about books as well as for applying the reading strategies.

I enjoyed Getting to say what page to read to next. It didnt turn out like I thought it would. The book roots.
I really did not like anything about literature circles.The book was ok but it is not what i like to read.it is to kidish. The book "the child called it."
You could like every time they don't have anything they are supposed to have or do you could give them plan time. You could like make them write a summory about the story and it could be due the next day.
The thing I liked about Lit circles was that you could discuss the things that you read with your group.
The book I read with my group was not the best book in the world but I still liked it, it was OK.
The books that i think would be fun are the Tucket books by Gary Paulsen I think there 8 books in the series but they are small chapter books and their really good!
My suggestion is, That the Homework Gnome is going thelp the boy that needs help with is Homework.
My group is reading, Math Rashes and the other Class room Tales.
The changes i suggest is you should let the literature group that you just got done talking to go to the back of the room when they dicide how far they are going to read and read a little of the book together. When the groups come up to talk to you about there books you should ask questions about the book to prove to you that they read the book or make them get a parent signature to tell they read from pages -- to --
I enjoyed the part about literature circles when we come up to you you let us sit in cufy chairs. I enjoy that we get to pick how much we read instead of you picking it.
The books i would add to the literature circle library is all of the Lee Waits books and more longer chapter books.
You could get them more prepared by making them extra work on the book if they are not prepared and if they don't do that then plantimes. You could read a little of the books from each literature circle and talk to the other students if the other one is not prepared so the other students can still have a dicusson even if other students in their group isnt prepared.
My suggestion for next year literature circles is that you should only let them do one think mark insted of two. My reasoning is that when I was reading my literature book Belle Teal , I got so caught up in the book that I almost forgot to do my two think marks.
What I enjoyed about literature circles was that we got to read a book we chose and talk about the book so that was somthing that I enjoyed.
My opinions about book my group read was that it was a great book I really enjoyed reading that book a lot cause it really shows that no matter what color you are their are people that care about you.
A book I would add to the litature library is the book Belle Teal cause its a real good heart-warming story.
I think literature circles awsome i live to read its my thing when i am textimg my friends i always tell them about a book i have .I thought the click was ok its not the best though i have have harry potter series and finished them all in 2 months. I think you should next years sixth graders should read were the red fren grows its a great book and it is also a challned to book to read you have to love to read to be able to read that book. A hope they have as much fun as i did!

In my book called The Hound Of The Baskerville there is this hound that killed Mr.Holmes.It was because Mr.Holmes was teasing the dog about him giving it food.So the hound came up to him and bit him in the leg and when the hound did that Mr.Holmes fell to the ground and he was bleeding eternally and he was out in the woods for about 3 days and after 30 min he died because there was nobody out there to get him.So after 3 days Mr.Grimpen was walking through the woods one day and he found Mr.Holmes but he didn't do nothing about it.But Mr.Grimpen kept that secret for several months.Until the law comes to his door.
My opinions are bridge to terribithia is really good and sad at the same time ,but the contender was not that good. I don't have any concerns or questions.
Changes I would make is give more time. An input is put more activities in. I enjoyed the activities the most.

If i was you i would get some type of picture book.Another thing you could do is make them do 2 thinkmarks than 4 and go on. That away you now the relly read all there book. It would be easier on you. I dont know about other kids but i love a challange.
If i was you i would add more books like Belle Teal. It is a very nice.
i think that lit gruops next year should be a bit longer if you have time or it couled have more to talk about .
What books would you add to the literature circle library? I would add more non-fiction books because there are many very interesting books out there about wars, ancient civilizations and many more. Most non-fiction books give vivid details to draw you into the book.
I liked that I get to read new I never heard of and talking about it

what i thank about literature groups? is that i liked it because i like hearing from other peaple that read the book and hear different thoughts then me, and different opions. i hope u can do it next year.
I think literature circles is a great activity because it helps us more by doing teamwork,and being good at it.Doing it is not a privlagen its something to help you more.I really enjoy meeting up every week.

I liked Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key it was a good book. 145 Street wasn't all that great and James and The Giant Peach is good so far.

I would posible get short picture books or chapter books. Why i think you should get those kind because new sixth graders want to feel like they are at home. That would make them feel that way. It is good to make them feel that way at first. That is just what i think.
Like i said before,they need to feel like they are at home. They might respect you more if you make them feel at home. that is just what i think. It might be better.
I enjoied EVERY THING. It was like a challange. I LOVE a challange. The main thing i liked doing was reading. Reading is a lot of fun.
My opinion on Belle Teal are, this book that i have told a lot of people about. that is what i think about this book. Why i think that is because it has every thing in it. It has drama,some action and more.
If i was you i would add some action books. I would add drama, mystery,funny and all diferent things. If you could get some books off nick. or cartoon network and disney. It might make kids actually read.
I would at the begging of the year start easy a small ones at first. Then get bigger over time. Then they would be reddy for anything. Tell them if they don't come prepared give out plantimes. That is just one thing. You could also tell them NO field trips if they don't turn work. There are my answers.
I did not like literature circles that much because I can not read a cirtain amount of pages in a cirtain amount of time. But I did like who I had in my literature group. My group readv Joey Pigza Swollowed the key.I would add Twilight to the literature library.

you can share your expressions and tell what you likedd about the book and you get to hold the stress ball when you share you part os your prediction about the book.i didnt like doing the think marks because you have to stop while you are reading and write down things. it whould be even better if the teacher came to the group that she called up. so that way it whould be faster for the teacher to get through groups.because i dont like getting up and going to the spot where she is at and gathering up all my stuff first witch is hard because you have to gather your book folder and a pencil and pther stuff but i like going to lituare circles
MY comment on literature circles are that I think that it was cool to have the time to read different typs of books.P.s for next year I think that you could give everyone two weeks insted one one to read but this year it went pretty good like I told you though it was kinda hard tdo understand
